Scott Hantz started on the pole of the Manning
Service 100, chased Jeff Lane for the first 47 laps, racing side by
side with him for several laps, before a near spin by a
car
about to lapped caused Lane to slow just enough to let him get by.
Hantz then seemed to have the race in hand while several cars
battled behind him for second, with Boris Jurkovic using the inside
lane to pass several cars to move up to second from his ninth
starting position.
On lap 96 Terry Fisher, Jr. cut a right front
tire and slide up into the wall, causing only the fourth caution of
the race. On the restart several cars slipped by Jurkovic due to a
transmission problem and raced to the finish. Kenny Tweedy came
home second, Jason Dietsch third, JR Roahrig fourth and Zach Taylor
fifth.
"This is the best car I have ever had here."
Hantz remarked. "I was just biding my time trying to past Jeff on
the inside, but Jeff has the experience here so I had to wait. I
just didn't want to make a mistake."
